Nachdem die Entwickler mit der sechsten Beta bereits einen Idle-Bug behoben haben, bringt die Beta 7 Optimierungen für <i>Call of Duty: Black Ops 2</i>. Der zusätzliche Enduro-Performance-Treiber soll jetzt endlich auch unter DirectX 9 und 10 Abhilfe für das Unterauslastungsproblem schaffen, von dem vor allem Besitzer von Enduro-Notebooks mit Radeon HD 7970M betroffen sind. Dieser Bugfix macht sich in einigen Spielen bei bestimmten Qualitätseinstellungen durch gewaltige Performance-Sprünge bemerkbar.
Der unter dem Codenamen "Never Settle Driver" entwickelte Catalyst 12.11 soll darüber hinaus in einigen Computerspielen signifikante Performanceverbesserungen auf GCN-GPUs bringen. Insbesondere in <i>Battlefield 3</i> versprechen die Entwickler deutlich höhere Frame-Raten, aber auch in weiteren Spielen sollen sich die Treiber-Optimierungen bemerkbar machen. Beispielhaft nennt AMD folgende Titel: <i>Borderlands 2</i>, <i>DiRT Showdown</i>, <i>Skyrim</i>, <i>Sleeping Dogs</i>, <i>Sniper Elite V2</i>, <i>StarCraft II</i>, <i>Unigine Heaven 3</i> und <i>Civilization 5</i>. Erste Tests zeigen zudem, dass in <i>Dragon Age 2</i> endlich das Problem beseitigt wurde, welches bisher die GCN-GPUs stark eingebremst hat.<p style="clear:left;">

Beide Treiber stehen für Windows 8, 7, Vista und Linux (nur Catalyst 12.11 Beta) zum Download bereit, wobei jeweils sowohl die 32-Bit- als auch die 64-Bit-Version im jeweiligen Installer enthalten sind. Zudem ist zu beachten, dass das Catalyst Control Center fortan mindestens .NET 4.0 voraussetzt. Das hier zum Download angebotene Treiberpaket AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta enthält bereits eine aktualisierte Laufzeitumgebung des AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) SDK 2.7, was AMDs Lösung zur Entwicklung parallelisierter Software auf Basis der OpenCL-Programmierplattform ist. Eine installierte OpenCL-Laufzeitumgebung ist Grundvoraussetzung, wenn auf der Grafikkarte oder APU OpenCL-Kernel bzw. per OpenCL-beschleunigte Programme ausgeführt werden sollen.
