AMD Zen 7 3D Core Leak (Early May 2025):
Note, its
very early, and therefore some details are subject to change. With that said, MLID has documents detailing the following details about Zen 7:
– 15-25% IPC Uplift (Current target is "above 20% in SpecINT17")
– Zen 7 utilizes TSMC 1.4nm for core chiplets, and 4nm for V-Cache Chiplets.
– 2MB L2 Cache per Core (on-die), and 7MB per Core on L3 Chiplets.
– One Zen 7 EPYC Variant utilizes 33-Core Chiplets, and goes up-to 264-Cores!
– 33-Core Zen 7 Chiplets are backwards compatible with Zen 6 EPYC IOD
– Current Tape Out
target is October 2026 (Late 2027 / Early 2028 Launch)
So overall, Zen 7 does not increase core counts massively over Zen 6, and seems to instead focus on massive per-core performance increases!
