Mit dem nützlichen Transkodiertool lassen sich Videodateien unterschiedlichster Ausgangsformate und DVDs (ohne Kopierschutz) in H.264 (x264), MPEG-4 ASP (FFmpeg) oder MPEG-2 ASP (FFmpeg) konvertieren, sodass sie auf diversen Ausgabegeräten wiedergegeben werden können. Hierzu stehen beispielsweise entsprechende Profile für die Endgeräte Apple iPhone, Apple iPad, Apple iPod, Apple iPod Touch, Apple TV/TV 2, Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable oder Playstation 3 bereit.
HandBrake wird als freie Software unter den Bedingungen der Version 3 der GNU General Public License (GPL) veröffentlicht. Derzeit stehe Versionen für Windows ab XP (32 bit und 64 bit), Mac OS X 10.6 / 10.7 (Intel 64 bit) und Linux zum Download bereit.<p style="clear:left;">

Schade, immer noch keine vorkompilierte OpenCL-Version. Per Hand habe ich es nach vielen Stunden nicht hinbekommen.

In der Tat kein schlechter Transcoder. War von der geschwindigkeit so positiv überrascht, dass ich mal eben 11 Filme von HD auf ipad-format geschrumpft habe.. Mein 5GHz i7 renderte mit 50-150fps, je nach quellauflösung.
