Day 13 17 May 2024 Full Steam Ahead!​

Now it is full throttle. Less than 36 hours remain for the teams to improve their rankings. Three disciplines are still ongoing, with the Javelin Throw being decided today. And here it is exciting right to the end. Auch beim Jagdrennen wird sich nichts geschenkt, and a lot can still chance, as there will be a big bonus tomorrow. In the Marathon, the ranking seems to stabilise, but there are still a few contested ranks, which has not always been the case in the past. And we also have a clearer picture in the overall standings now. Today, I am going to take a comprehensive look at the situation, so the report will probably take a little longer today.

Marathon (PrimeGrid: only subproject Cullen Prime Search LLR (CUL))
TAAT is currently managing their lead and can do so with a clear conscience, as they are far enough ahead of P3D. However, the Green Planet still has a lot of fire under their belt and continues with a strong pace. This does not help them, as SG (#3) is far away, but it is looking great.

[H] (#4) cannot keep up with the pace of the Germans, but extends the lead over CNT (#5). Behind them, LTT (#6) seems to redirecting their power to the other disciplines, but is still doing enough to keep GPUUG (#7) at bay.

Things might still get uncomfortable for NoTEAM (#8), as SUSA (#9) managed to pull away from AF (#10) and Ukraine (#11) and has set full sail. This could get close on the home straight. And behind them, AF was able to pass the Ukrainians and currently has a strong excess of pace. I am looking forward to seeing whether we will see a counter-reaction.

This might even be necessary, as RKN (#12) is currently faster than Ukraine and still has the opportunity to catch up. TC (#13) is unlikely to move up, but could well move down. Why is that? AMD Users (#14) are currently running faster and we will still see a swap of places here if this remains the case.

#15 is not in the bag yet for MK, as BOINC.Italy (#16) simply will not give up. The situation is not much different with Chinese Dream (#17) and Crunching@EVGA (#18). There is still enough time left to turn this around.

OCN (#19), BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#20), B^S (#21), and LITOMYSL (#22) will likely coast to the end of the Marathon. We will see whether BS can hold onto #23. TFFE (#24) still has a chance. UBT seems safe in #25, as Russia and Crystal Dream are probably not interested in getting into the race.

Javelin Throw (NFS@Home)
It is not yet clear who will win which medal. The only thing that is certain is that SG, P3D, and TAAT will share them among themselves. SG does nothing more today, whereas P3D still has to do more. Their throw looks promising so far, but the day is not over yet. TAAT also still has work to do today and things seem to be heading in the right direction for them, as well.

LTT is safe in #4 and will not do anything today, just like [H] in #5 and CNT (#6). On the other hand, the battle for #7 is not decided yet. NoTEAM (#7) and SUSA (#8) seem to do nothing today and could still fall victim to GPUUG (#9). Their javelin is still in the air and does not look too bad.

Behind them, Ukraine (#11) performs their previous performances today. However, this will not be enough to reach the top 10, as AF (#10) seized their opportunity. TC (#12) also still has a chance. LITOMYSL (#13) is making the most of their their chances today, keeping RKN (#14), BOINC.Italy (#15), and Crunching@EVGA (#16) behind them.

This trio does not seem to be throwing today, which means that Crunching@EVGA is throwing away an opportunity. MK have just secured #17 and can now calmly watch the three-way battle behind them. Chinese Dream (#18) probably will not do anything today and could thus fall prey to OCN (#19) and AMD Users (#20).

Behind them, BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#21) is probably out of power to attack; this would not be hopeless, though. They could well join in the three-way battle ahead of them. B^S (#22) can no longer be caught by Russia (#23), and BS (#24), TFFE (#25), UBT (#26), and Crystal Dream (#27) can no longer improve either.

Steeplechase (MilkyWay@home)
The rankings in the Steeplechase were sorted out by the obstacle day yesterday. As there is another such day to come and it is not today, the bar will be raised again tomorrow, along with the opportunities and risks. TAAT has probably finished the job for good now and has managed to pull away from P3D and SG. These two teams are likely to battle it out for silver and bronze, even if SG will have to step up their game if they want to go for silver.

LTT will likely have to settle with #4 again, as a significant gap to the top has opened up. CNT (#5) caught GPUUG (#6) yesterday and now set their sights on LTT. GPUUG even has to watch out for [H] (#7), who are skillfully riding in the slipstream. This way, they were also able to pull away from Ukraine (#8) and NoTEAM (#9). This duo is also very close together and will certainly keep us entertained.

Will AF end up in #8 or in #12? Currently, they are in #10 and on the one hand have a chance to move up, but on the other hand SUSA (#11) and TC (#12) are breathing down their necks. Let us see how the battle between rooster, eagle, and dragon plays out.

BOINC.Italy is currently trying to hold onto #13 and thus keep RKN (#14) behind them. At least there is no further threat from behind. There, BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#15) and OCN (#16) are engaged in a fierce skirmish. Behind them is another duel between AMD Users (#17) and MK (#18). It is just as close between them as between Crunching@EVGA (#19) and TFFE (#20).

The gaps behind them are not very large, but LITOMYSL (#21), Chinese Dream (#22), BS (#23), and UBT (#24) show no signs of an imminent attack. There is a little more movement behind them, where Russia (#25) has just ousted B^S (#26). And Crystal Dream diligently swings the red lantern.

Overall Standings
The podium is probably set. TAAT clearly leads ahead of P3D and SG. Although the Javelin Throw will likely cause a shift in points, this will not change the order.

LTT will probably bring home #4, as [H] (#5) is unlikely to catch up enough. CNT does not seem safe in #6 yet, as GPUUG (#7) still has some potential at the Javelin Throw. There could also conceivably be shifts between NoTEAM (#8), SUSA (#9), AF (#10), and Ukraine (#11).

Behind them, RKN is trying to save #12 to the finish ahead of BOINC.Italy (#13) and TC (#14). AMD Users seem to be safe in #15, as LITOMYSL (#16), MK (#17), and OCN (#18) are probably too far behind. For BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#19) it will be important to hold on to their excellent results in the Steeplechase, because otherwise Crunching@EVGA (#20) threatens to pass them.

Chinese Dream is probably safe in #21. In contrast, it is still quite close between B^S (#22), BS (#23), and TFFE (#24). Things could still change here. Nothing will change for UBT (#25), Russia (#26), and Crystal Dream (#27).

It is all set and far from decided.

• Will P3D still take silver at the Javelin Throw?
• Can SG still catch P3D in the Steeplechase?
• And will there be a surprise in the Marathon?

Tag 13 17.05.2024 Volle Kraft voraus!​

Nun gilt nur noch Vollgas. Weniger als 36 Stunden verbleiben den Teams, um die Positionen zu verbessern. Drei Disziplinen sind noch am Start, wobei das Speerwerfen heute außerdem entschieden wird. Und hier ist es spannend bis zuletzt. Auch beim Jagdrennen wird sich nichts geschenkt, und da es morgen kräftig Bonus gibt, kann sich noch viel ändern. Beim Marathon scheinen sich langsam die Positionen zu verfestigen, dennoch gibt es noch einige umkämpfte Positionen, was nicht immer der Fall war. Und in der Gesamtwertung sehen wir jetzt auch etwas klarer. Heute gebe ich einen umfassenden Blick zur Lage, deshalb wird der Bericht heute wohl etwas länger dauern.

Marathon (PrimeGrid: nur das Subprojekt Cullen Prime Search LLR (CUL))
TAAT verwaltet die Führung derzeit, und da der Vorsprung auf P3D groß genug ist, kann man dies auch guten Gewissens tun. Der Grüne Planet hat aber noch mächtig Feuer unter dem Hintern und legt weiter ein heftiges Tempo vor. Das hilft ihnen zwar nicht, da SG (#3) weit weg ist, sieht aber gut aus.

[H] (#4) kann das Tempo der Deutschen nicht halten, baut aber gleichzeitig den Vorsprung auf CNT (#5) aus. LTT (#6) dahinter scheint Kräfte in die anderen Disziplinen zu verlagern, was aber immer noch reicht, um GPUUG (#7) auf Abstand zu halten.

Ungemütlich könnte es noch für NoTEAM (#8) werden, denn SUSA (#9) hat sich von AF (#10) und Ukraine (#11) lösen können und hat volle Segel gesetzt. Das könnte auf der Zielgeraden noch eng werden. Und dahinter hat AF die Ukrainer überholen können und derzeit einen kräftigen Tempoüberschuss. Ich bin gespannt, ob wir da noch eine Gegenreaktion sehen werden.

Die könnte auch nötig sein, denn RKN (#12) ist derzeit schneller als die Ukraine und hat die Möglichkeit noch heranzukommen. Für TC (#13) wird es nach vorn wahrscheinlich nicht mehr gehen, aber nach hinten ist nicht auszuschließen. Warum? Die AMD Users (#14) sind derzeit flotter unterwegs, und wenn dies so bleibt, werden wir hier noch einen Platztausch sehen.

#15 für MK ist auch bisher nicht in trockenen Tüchern, da BOINC.Italy (#16) einfach nicht aufgeben will. Nicht viel anders sieht es zwischen Chinese Dream (#17) und Crunching@EVGA (#18) aus, auch hier ist die Zeit ausreichend, um das Ergebnis noch zu drehen.

OCN (#19), BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#20), B^S (#21) und LITOMYSL (#22) werden den Marathon wohl auslaufen lassen. Ob BS am Ende #23 halten kann, werden wir sehen. TFFE (#24) hat noch eine Chance. UBT auf #25 scheint sicher, da wohl Russia und Crystal Dream kein Interesse mehr haben, einzugreifen.

Speerwerfen (NFS@Home)
Bisher ist nicht klar, wer welche Medaille bekommt. Sicher ist nur, dass SG, P3D und TAAT diese unter sich verteilen werden. SG tut heute nichts mehr, wogegen P3D noch nachlegen muss. Bis jetzt ist der Wurf ziemlich erfolgversprechend, aber noch ist der Tag nicht vorbei. Auch TAAT muss heute noch ran und auch hier scheint es in die goldene Richtung zu gehen.

LTT hat #4 sicher und macht heute nichts mehr, ebenso wie [H] auf #5 und CNT (#6). Dagegen ist der Kampf um #7 noch unentschieden. NoTEAM (#7) und SUSA (#8) scheinen heute nichts zu machen und könnten so noch Opfer von GPUUG (#9) werden. Noch ist der Speer in der Luft und das sieht auch gar nicht so schlecht aus.

Dahinter bestätigt die Ukraine (#11) heute ihre bisherigen Würfe. Für die Top 10 wird es aber nicht mehr reichen, denn AF (#10) hat ihre Chance genutzt. Und auch TC (#12) hat noch eine Chance. LITOMYSL (#13) holt das Maximum für sich heute raus und hält so RKN (#14), BOINC.Italy (#15) und Crunching@EVGA (#16) hinter sich.

Dieses Trio scheint heute nicht zu werfen, wobei Crunching@EVGA damit eine Chance wegwirft. MK sichern sich soeben #17 und können so den Dreikampf dahinter in Ruhe beäugen. Chinese Dream (#18) macht wohl heute nichts und könnte so zur Beute von OCN (#19) und den AMD Users (#20) werden.

Dahinter hat BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#21) wohl keine Kraft mehr, um zu attackieren; aussichtslos wäre das aber nicht. Sie könnten durchaus in den Dreikampf vor ihnen eingreifen. B^S (#22) kann von Russia (#23) nicht mehr eingeholt werden und auch BS (#24), TFFE (#25), UBT (#26) und Crystal Dream (#27) können sich nicht mehr verbessern.

Jagdrennen (MilkyWay@home)
Beim Jagdrennen hat der gestrige Hindernistag das Feld sortiert. Da noch ein solcher Tag ansteht und dieser nicht heute ist, wird morgen die Latte wieder höher gelegt, mitsamt Chancen und Risiken. TAAT hat nun wohl endgültig den Sack zugemacht und hat sich von P3D und SG lösen können. Zwischen den beiden Teams wird es wohl um Silber und Bronze gehen, auch wenn SG nachlegen muss, um nach Silber greifen zu können.

LTT muss wohl wieder mit #4 vorliebnehmen, denn nach vorn ist schon eine kräftige Lücke entstanden. CNT (#5) hat sich gestern GPUUG (#6) gekrallt und nimmt jetzt LTT ins Visier. GPUUG muss sogar auf [H] (#7) aufpassen, die geschickt im Windschatten unterwegs sind. So konnten sie sich auch von der Ukraine (#8) und NoTEAM (#9) absetzen. Dieses Duo liegt ebenfalls eng beieinander und wird uns sicher noch fleißig unterhalten.

Ob es am Ende für AF zu #8 reicht oder zu #12? Derzeit hat man #10 inne und hat einerseits Chancen, aber andererseits SUSA (#11) und TC (#12) im Nacken. Mal sehen, wie der Kampf zwischen Hahn, Adler und Drache ausgeht.

BOINC.Italy versucht derzeit, #13 zu behalten und damit RKN (#14) hinter sich zu behalten. Zumindest von weiter hinten droht wohl keine Gefahr. Dort liefern sich gerade BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#15) und OCN (#16) ein heftiges Scharmützel. Ein weiteres Duell gibt es dahinter mit den AMD Users (#17) und MK (#18). Hier geht es genauso knapp zu wie zwischen Crunching@EVGA (#19) und TFFE (#20).

Die Abstände dahinter sind nicht sehr groß, doch bei LITOMYSL (#21), Chinese Dream (#22), BS (#23) und UBT (#24) gibt es keine Anzeichen dafür, dass hier ein Angriff bevorsteht. Etwas mehr Bewegung ist dahinter zu verzeichnen, dort hat Russia (#25) gerade B^S (#26) verdrängt. Und die rote Laterne schwenkt fleißig Crystal Dream.

Gesamtwertung
Das Podium ist wohl verteilt. TAAT führt klar vor P3D und SG. Auch wenn das Speerwerfen noch zu Punkteverschiebungen führt, die Reihenfolge ändert sich dadurch nicht mehr.

LTT wird wohl #4 nach Hause bringen, da [H] (#5) wohl nicht mehr genug aufholen kann. CNT auf #6 erscheint mir bislang nicht sicher, da GPUUG (#7) noch Potenzial beim Speer hat. Und auch zwischen NoTEAM (#8), SUSA (#9), AF (#10) und Ukraine (#11) sind Verschiebungen denkbar.

Dahinter versucht RKN, #12 vor BOINC.Italy (#13) und TC (#14) ins Ziel zu retten. Die AMD Users dahinter scheinen auf #15 sicher zu sein, da LITOMYSL (#16), MK (#17) und OCN (#18) zu weit weg scheinen. Für BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#19) wird es darauf ankommen, das hervorragende Ergebnis beim Jagdrennen zu halten, denn ansonsten droht Crunching@EVGA (#20), vorbeizugehen.

Sicher ist wohl Chinese Dream auf #21. Dagegen geht es zwischen B^S (#22), BS (#23) und TFFE (#24) noch recht eng zu. Hier kann es noch zu Veränderungen kommen. Für UBT (#25), Russia (#26) und Crystal Dream (#27) wird sich nichts ändern.

Es ist angerichtet und noch lange nicht alles entschieden.

• Holt P3D noch Silber beim Speerwerfen?
• Kann SG beim Jagdrennen P3D noch abfangen?
• Und gibt es beim Marathon noch eine Überraschung?
