Das freie Datenträgerverschlüsselungs-Programm TrueCrypt ist in der Version 7.0a verfügbar. Mit dem Programm lassen sich Festplatten und Wechseldatenträger bzw. Teile davon verschlüsseln und somit vor unbefugtem Zugriff schützen.

Das Programm steht für Windows ab Windows 2000, Mac OS X ab 10.4, Linux und als Source zur Verfügung.

Ich fände einen Test mit einer Vollverschlüsselung der Systempartiotion mal interessant im Vergleich zur unverschlüsselten Variante.

Inwiefern profitiert TC hier von den neuen AES-Beschleunigungseinheiten der aktuellen Intel CPUs?

Macht es einen Unterschied, ob man HDDs oder SSDs einsetzt.

Leiden bei Spielen die Frameraten drunter, weil die CPU bei I/O Zugriffen ver-/entschlüsseln muss?

Darf ich eine SSD überhaupt komplett verschlüsseln, oder muss ich 10-20% des Platzes freilassen aus Performancegründen?
