Wer hat sowas schonmal konfiguriert?
So wirklich glücklich bin ich damit noch nicht. Es ist eine Radeon 9800 und ich habe
fglrx_6_8_0-8.19.10-1.i386.rpm installiert. Es sind 2 analoge Bildschirme angeschlossen. Desktopmanager ist Gnome.
Wenn der Treiber fglrx aktiv ist in der xorg.conf, dann sind Videos sehr langsam. Mit Mplayer oder Kaffeine kann ich gar keine öffnen nur mit Xine
Im Gnome sehe ich ein ATI Control Applet aber wenn man da was einstellt dann ändert sich nichts
meine xorg.conf

es gibt da ein Programm ähnlich xf86config namens fglrxconfig aber so toll ist das auch nicht
hab ein bißchen im Netz gesucht und das jetzt einigermaßen hinbekommen, allerdings was noch nicht schlecht wäre wenn man Videos öffnet das die am 2 Schirm automatisch in Vollbild abgespielt werden so wie das unter Windows geht

benützt hier niemand den fglrx Treiber?
Ja, daheim auf meinem Notebook mit ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 tut der Treiber ganz gut. Aus der Config-Datei, die von "fglrxconfig" erstellt wird, kann man die Device-Section übernehmen und in eine Example-xorg.conf integrieren. Dann sollte das passen.

sowas hab ich bei mir nicht, auch nicht als Datei:
/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6
in der DRM section ist im Kernel glaube ich alles als Modul konfiguriert, bin mir aber nicht sicher. "radeon" ist ein Modul und nicht geladen
wichtiger wäre mir aber das Zeugs mit Video ob man irgendwo was Overlaymäßig einstellen kann bei Videoquellen

Also, möchte man den Kernel-AGP nutzen, sollte in dier xorg.conf bei "UseInternalAGP" ein "no" stehen.
Um den selben Effekt über das Konfig-Tool zu erreichen, muss man bei der Frage "Do you want to use the external AGP GART module (y/n)? [n]" mit "y" antworten.
Super verwirrend, aber wenn man sich die Fragen, bzw. Konfigeinstellungen mal grob im Kopf übersetzt, wird es klar......
