CapFrameX v1.7.2
New features
- Real-time frame rate stuttering metric (time based)
- Application CPU usage monitoring parameter
Bug fixes
- High CPU usage on some Intel platforms (bus speed detection)
Note
If you are using a network drive as your capture directory and also use the autostart feature,
you might want to download the additional zip file too and read the info inside it.
New features
- Added CPU core voltage sensors for AMD Zen2 and Zen3
- Added sensor support for Intel Raptor Lake
- New experimental "TBP Sim" sensor usable with RDNA and RDNA2 GPUs. This sensor tries to closely match the real power consumption of the whole card.
Enhancements
- The multi-tab view on the analysis page now expands to up to 3 separate tabs depending on the width of your window.
- Increased text sizes for most UI elements
- Improved sharpness of screenshot exports
Bug fixes
- Copy sensor values from analysis page didn't work
- Removing AppData contents on manual uninstall to potentially solve problems with CX not showing up when run
Note
If you are using a network drive as your capture directory and also use the autostart feature,
you might want to download the additional zip file too and read the info inside it.
New features
- Support for Intel Alder Lake CPUs (sensor info and detection of performance and efficiency cores)
- Move record files into different tree view folders via drag & drop(needs tree view to be pinned)
- Status of ResBar, GameMode and HAGS are saved in record files and included in system info expander
- Notifications inside CX for us to send important messages to all users on app start when neccessary
- Overlay values accessible through http and web socket (links provided in options menu)
- "System time" as new overlay entry to simply show the current time
- Max core temperature added to sensors (Intel)
Enhancements
- Autostart using scheduled task to remove UAC prompt
- Record list search bar now also shows the number of records in the current directory
- Run history and aggregation options moved from Overlay to Capture page as they are more connected to the capturing process
- Further compressed overlay entry formats to display more entries without glitches
- Custom capture time for a process can now be saved directly with a save button instead of having to do a capture for it
- Group control on overlay page includes CPU core voltages
- Variances and input lag calculated separately for each run of an aggregated session, then added together to exclude the differences between the last frame of a run and the first frame of the next run
- Input lag calculation changed to include the possible impact of dropped frames and input sampled post-present in the upper bound and for input sampled pre-present in the lower bound.
Bug fixes
- Possible fixes for crashes regarding sound manager and overlay entries
- OS version wasn't showing in system info expander
Note

New features
- "Show aggregation" toggle on Analysis page to show graph separators for the single runs of an aggregated record
- "Frametime variance" (difference between consecutive frametime values) added to Analysis and Comparison page
- New Hotspot sensors for Nvidia GPUs
- "Inverse cut" option added to range slider to remove the selected range and save the remaining data
Enhancements
- Cutting a record with range slider now adds "(Cut) " at the start of the comment to better find the new file in the record list
- added a decimal point to the app latency overlay entry
- added app latency and some standard sensor values to the Report page and adjusted the copy function to only copy active values
Bug fixes
- Range slider cutting didn't work for records without sensor data
- Range slider cuttingt didn't always work correctly when cutting aggregated records
- GPU accelleration could lead to slow loading of larger graphs together with very high RAM usage since version 1.6.4. Because it doesn't have any real benefits, the option was cut.
- Possible fix for app crash when saving the app settings
New features
- Updated OxyPlot to version 2.1.0 and greatly improved the performance of large frametime/FPS-Graphs
- "Global time" toggle button for capture time to switch between one capture time for every process and last used capture times for each process
- "Application latency" as new overlay item
Enhancements
- Record info expander position is now persistent
- Single columns of the record list can be hidden and their order is now persistent
Bug fixes
- Colour of graphs changed and didn't respond to dark/lightmode changes after PNG export
- First metric on comparison page wasn't persistent
- PresentMon files made with version 1.7.0 were not fully compatible
- Fix for extremely rare bug that had CX starting with only a taskbar icon that had a white window as preview but no accessible window
26.06.2021
New features
- Redesigned Capture page with new capture logger and filter options
- Put record info area into an expander to give more room for the record list
