Overall Standings
It is done. The pentathletes can finally take a deep breath and look back at their achievements. Yes, TAAT made a clean sweep and we have certainly seen more exciting Pentathlons with respect to the battle for victory. Although TAAT's dominance was overwhelming, there was a lot of movement behind them right up to the last day. I hope that the top 6 will be a bit closer together next year again, in which case we would hopefully have once again more teams winning medals in the disciplines.

One nice thing is that we experience surprises every year. Did SG themselves believe they would do so well? Did anyone have NoTEAM on their radar? As you can see, there is always something going on at the Pentathlon. The Pentathlon also offers opportunities for rookies, as NoTEAM has demonstrated once again.

This year, four teams won at least one medal, with TAAT and P3D coming as no surprise. SG managed to win four medals in the disciplines for the first time since 2012 and consequently finally finished on the overall podium for the first time since 2016.

The overall standings are as follows. As usual, I will give my two cents about the top 15. The results in the individual disciplines are given in parentheses in the following order: Marathon - Sprint - City Run - Javelin Throw - Steeplechase. For the first time, I also give the total number of appearances. But let us now move on to the ceremony:

Gold Medal​

TeAm AnandTech (1-1-1-1-1)
Previous year: #1 / Total appearances: 12

What else is left to write? They were dominant and made no mistakes, and thus their third consecutive victory was inevitable. They have won 14 out of 15 gold medals in the disciplines over the last three years, which once again illustrates their dominance during this time.

Silver Medal​

Planet 3DNow! (2,2,2,2,2)
Previous year: #2 / Total appearances: 15

P3D shines as silver as never before, taking silver in all disciplines. Their seventh overall silver medal was well deserved. Unfortunately, they were unable to attack TAAT. But at least they were able to fend off the attack from SG.

Bronze Medal​

SETI.Germany (3-3-5-3-3)
Previous year: #4 / Total appearances: 15

Finally an overall medal again and it is bronze, as in 2016. In addition, they won bronze in four disciplines. This can and will satisfy the champion of days gone by, even though more might have been possible at the Javelin Throw.

It is only iron this year for LTT, although they were very consistent and more steady than last year. They were just missing a little bit of power. At least they managed to win bronze in the City Run, which is of course a reason to celebrate. And next year they will be back on the attack.

They were able to improve consistently in comparison to the previous year and the rankings show a steady performance over the course of the competition. Not much was missing for bronze in the City Run. In the future, [H] will remain a serious contender in the disciplines. However, they need to step up their game if they want to improve in the overall standings.

Previous year: #8 / Total appearances: 15
Their results in the disciplines this year were not much better than in 2023, but the Czechs were still able to move up two ranks. However, last year was more of a negative slip-up that was corrected this year. A minor slip-up in the City Run somewhat clouds their record. If they can fix that, there is room for further improvement.

Previous year: #7 / Total appearances: 2
Seven is their number. In the ten disciplines they have competed in so far, they finished in #7 six times, and they also finished in #7 in the overall standings last year. One drop of bitterness is that, unlike last year, they were unable to win a medal. However, they were the champions of consistency this year.

Previous year: new / Total appearances: 1
To finish in #8 as a rookie is already an achievement to be happy about. The minor misstep in the City Run ultimately had no consequences and so the question is now whether they will be able to repeat this strong performance next year.

Previous year: #11 / Total appearances: 12
After their comeback last year, the previous champion improved considerably this year. Not much is missing for an even better rank. However, they urgently need to work on their weaknesses. They lost ground in the Sprint and in the Steeplechase, and the good result in the City Run could not compensate for that.

L'Alliance Francophone (10-9-10-10-10)
Previous year: #9 / Total appearances: 15
The conclusion could be that they are steady, but with big question marks. #10 is not a bad result, but it is still the worst result for the Francophones in the long history of this competition. The Francophones need to take action, because their competitors do not sleep. Otherwise they are at risk of dropping out of the top 10.

Ukraine (11-10-9-12-8)
Previous year: #10 / Total appearances: 15
The Ukrainians were doing good, even though they have fallen out of the top 10. However, this was not inevitable, as the misstep at the Javelin Throw has cost them the top 10. In recent years, they have established themselves in this part of the ranking and, given the situation in the country, this cannot be taken for granted and deserves respect.

Previous year: #6 / Total appearances: 14
Last year, the Rechenkrafties surprised us positively, but unfortunately they were unable to confirm this performance this year. As a result, they fell sharply down the rankings. Their worst result since 2015 is now in the books. At least they were steady, without any major slip-ups, but also without any highlights.

They were able to repeat last year's performance, but there was a bit of a lack of forward momentum. Every year they have a slip-up, this year in the City Run. Last year, they slipped up at the Javelin Throw, but learned from it and got their best result there this year. It seems they are becoming more steady. If they were able to step up their game a bit now, they could make the top 10 or even better.

As in the previous year, the Italians were in a clinch with TC. Tied on points with TC, the worse results in the disciplines prevented a better result. They were still on top of their game in the first two disciplines, but could not keep it up. Punktgleich mit TC verhinderten die schlechteren Einzelplatzierungen ein besseres Ergebnis. Bei den ersten beiden Disziplinen waren sie noch optimal dabei, konnten das aber nicht durchhalten. In the Marathon, they lost their chance to achieve a better rank.

Previous year: #17 / Total appearances: 15
The performance of the AMD Users has fluctuated a lot over the years. This year, they settled in #15 with steady performances and without being dragged into any major battles. However, they should work a bit on their tactical skills in the Javelin Throw, as this would allow them to do better again in the future.

Statistics
No new team was able to win a medal this year. P3D still has won the most gold medals in the disciplines (18), but TAAT (17) is now ranked second in this statistic. SUSA (15) is in third place. In terms of silver medals, the ranking is P3D (32) ahead of SG (13) and SUSA (12). SG won the most bronze medals so far (18), ahead of P3D (10), and SUSA and CNT (8).

In terms of the overall standings, P3D will remain at the top for a few more years with six wins. Behind them are SUSA and TAAT with three wins each. SG and TSBT each won twice. P3D also feels at home in the silver mine (7), behind them are SUSA (4), TAAT (2), and SG and ESL (1). SG won the most bronze medals (5), ahead of SUSA, TSBT, and TC (2), and AF, CNT, and LTT (1).

2. Teil​

Gesamtwertung
Es ist geschafft. Endlich können die Pentathleten durchschnaufen und ihr Werk begutachten. Ja, es gab einen Durchmarsch von TAAT und so hatten wir sicher schon spannendere Pentathlons, wenn es um den Sieg ging. Auch wenn die Überlegenheit von TAAT schon erdrückend war, gab es dahinter eine Menge Bewegung und das bis zum letzten Tag. Ich hoffe, dass im nächsten Jahr die Top 6 wieder etwas mehr zusammenrücken, dann bekommen wir hoffentlich abermals mehr Teams mit Medaillen in den Disziplinen.

Das Schöne ist, dass wir jedes Jahr Überraschungen erleben. Hat man bei SG selbst daran geglaubt, so gut abzuschneiden? Hatte jemand NoTEAM auf dem Zettel? Sie sehen, es ist immer was los beim Pentathlon. Auch für Rookies bietet der Pentathlon Gelegenheiten, was uns NoTEAM wieder einmal aufgezeigt hat.

In diesem Jahr gab es vier Teams, die sich Edelmetall umhängen durften, wobei TAAT und P3D keine Überraschung darstellten. SG schaffte es erstmals seit 2012 wieder, vier Einzelmedaillen zu holen, und somit stehen sie folgerichtig endlich erstmals seit 2016 wieder auf dem Gesamtpodium.

Die Gesamtwertung sieht wie folgt aus. Wie gewohnt gebe ich zu den besten fünfzehn meinen scharfen (Bautzner) Senf dazu. In Klammern die Ergebnisse in den Einzeldisziplinen, in der Reihenfolge Marathon - Sprint - Stadtlauf - Speerwerfen - Jagdrennen. Dazu habe ich erstmals die Anzahl der Teilnahmen hinzugefügt. Doch nun schreiten wir zur Ehrung:

Goldmedaille​

TeAm AnandTech (1-1-1-1-1)
Vorjahr: #1 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 12

Was soll man dazu noch schreiben? Sie waren dominant und machten keine Fehler, und so war der dritte Sieg in Folge nicht zu verhindern. In den vergangenen drei Jahren holten sie 14 von 15 Einzelgoldmedaillen, was ihre Überlegenheit in dieser Zeit noch einmal verdeutlicht.

Silbermedaille​

Vorjahr: #2 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15

So silbern glänzte P3D noch nie, Silber in allen Disziplinen. Die siebte Gesamt-Silbermedaille war hochverdient. Leider hat es nicht dazu gereicht, auch mal TAAT anzugreifen. Aber zumindest konnte man den Angriff von SG abwehren.

Bronzemedaille​

SETI.Germany (3-3-5-3-3)
Vorjahr: #4 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15

Endlich wieder mal eine Gesamtmedaille und wie 2016 schimmert sie Bronze. Dazu in vier Disziplinen ebenfalls Bronze. Da kann und wird der Champion vergangener Tage sehr zufrieden sein, auch wenn beim Speerwerfen vielleicht mehr drin gewesen wäre.

Platz 4
LinusTechTips_Team (6-4-3-4-4)
Vorjahr: #3 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 6
Nur Blech dieses Jahr für LTT, obwohl man sehr beständig und stabiler unterwegs war als im vergangenen Jahr. Es fehlte einfach ein Quäntchen Power. Immerhin konnte Bronze beim Stadtlauf geholt werden, was natürlich ein Grund zum Feiern ist. Und im nächsten Jahr wird wieder angegriffen.

Platz 5
[H]ard|OCP (4-6-4-5-6)
Vorjahr: #5 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 10
Gegenüber dem Vorjahr konnte man sich durchweg steigern und die Platzierungen zeigen eine stabile Leistung während des gesamten Wettbewerbs. Beim Stadtlauf fehlte nicht viel zu Bronze. [H] ist auch in Zukunft ein ernstzunehmender Kandidat, wenn es um die Disziplinen geht. Für die Gesamtwertung muss man sich aber steigern.

Platz 6
Czech National Team (5-5-8-6-5)
Vorjahr: #8 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15
Bei den Ergebnissen in den Disziplinen war man in diesem Jahr kaum besser als 2023, dennoch konnten sich die Tschechen um zwei Plätze nach vorn arbeiten. Doch war das vergangene Jahr eher ein negativer Ausrutscher, der dieses Jahr korrigiert wurde. Ein kleiner Ausrutscher beim Stadtlauf trübt die Statistik etwas. Wenn man das beheben kann, ist noch mehr drin.

Platz 7
GPU Users Group (7-7-7-7-7)
Vorjahr: #7 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 2
Mit der Sieben haben sie es. Bei ihren bisherigen Starts in zehn Disziplinen gab es sechsmal #7 und auch im vergangenen Jahr stand in der Gesamtwertung #7. Ein Wermutstropfen ist, dass man im Gegensatz zum Vorjahr keine Medaillen holen konnte. Dafür ist man in diesem Jahr Meister der Kontinuität.

Platz 8
NoTEAM (8-8-11-9-8)
Vorjahr: neu / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 1
Als Rookie auf #8 einzugehen, ist schon mal eine Leistung, über die man sich freuen kann. Der kleine Patzer beim Stadtlauf blieb am Ende folgenlos und es bleibt die Frage, ob sie auch im nächsten Jahr diese gute Leistung bestätigen können.

Platz 9
SETI.USA (9-11-6-9-11)
Vorjahr: #11 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 12
Nach der Rückkehr im vergangenen Jahr verbesserte sich der frühere Champion in diesem Jahr merklich. Viel fehlt nicht für eine noch bessere Platzierung. Dafür muss man aber dringend an den Schwächen arbeiten. Beim Sprint und im Jagdrennen mussten sie Federn lassen, das konnte das gute Ergebnis beim Stadtlauf nicht mehr herausreißen.

Platz 10
L'Alliance Francophone (10-9-10-10-10)
Vorjahr: #9 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15
Stabil, aber mit großen Fragezeichen, könnte das Fazit sein. Platz zehn ist kein schlechtes Ergebnis, aber es ist dennoch das schlechteste Ergebnis für die Frankophonen in der langen Geschichte des Wettbewerbs. Die Frankophonen haben Handlungsbedarf, denn die Konkurrenz schläft nicht. Sonst droht man aus den Top 10 zu fallen.

Platz 11
Ukraine (11-10-9-12-8)
Vorjahr: #10 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15
Ein guter Wettbewerb liegt hinter den Ukrainern, auch wenn sie aus den Top 10 gefallen sind. Das wäre aber gar nicht nötig gewesen, der Patzer beim Speerwerfen kostete sie die Top 10. In den vergangenen Jahren haben sie sich in dieser Tabellenregion festgesetzt und das ist vor dem Hintergrund der Situation im Land auch nicht selbstverständlich und verdient Respekt.

Platz 12
Rechenkraft.net (12-13-13-14-13)
Vorjahr: #6 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 14
Im vergangenen Jahr haben uns die Rechenkraftler positiv überrascht, in diesem Jahr konnten sie das leider nicht bestätigen. Und so ging es kräftig zurück. Das schlechteste Ergebnis seit 2015 steht nun in den Büchern. Zumindest stabil waren sie, ohne große Patzer, aber auch ohne Höhepunkte.

Platz 13
Team China (14-15-17-11-12)
Vorjahr: #13 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 14
Den Platz aus dem Vorjahr konnten sie bestätigen, aber es fehlte etwas der Zug nach vorn. Jedes Jahr gibt es einen Ausrutscher, dieses Jahr beim Stadtlauf. Im vergangenen Jahr rutschten sie beim Speerwerfen aus und lernten daraus und holten in diesem Jahr dort ihre beste Platzierung. Es scheint, sie werden stabiler. Wenn sie jetzt noch etwas zulegen könnten, wären die Top 10 oder auch mehr drin.

Platz 14
BOINC.Italy (16-12-12-15-14)
Vorjahr: #14 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15
Wie im vergangenen Jahr waren die Italiener mit TC im Clinch. Punktgleich mit TC verhinderten die schlechteren Einzelplatzierungen ein besseres Ergebnis. Bei den ersten beiden Disziplinen waren sie noch optimal dabei, konnten das aber nicht durchhalten. Beim Marathon verspielten sie die Chance auf eine bessere Platzierung.

Platz 15
AMD Users (13-16-14-18-17)
Vorjahr: #17 / Teilnahmen insgesamt: 15
Die Schwankungsbreite bei den AMD Users ist im Laufe der Jahre breit. In diesem Jahr setzte man sich durch stabile Leistungen auf #15 fest, ohne sich in größere Kämpfe verwickeln zu lassen. Allerdings sollte man etwas an den taktischen Fähigkeiten beim Speerwerfen arbeiten, dann ist in Zukunft auch wieder mehr möglich.

Statistik
In diesem Jahr konnte sich kein neues Team mit Edelmetall behängen. Die meisten Goldmedaillen in den Disziplinen hat immer noch P3D (18) zu verbuchen, doch TAAT (17) hat sich hier auf den zweiten Rang der Statistik gesetzt. Auf Rang drei ist SUSA (15) zu finden. Bei den Silbermedaillen lautet die Reihenfolge P3D (32) vor SG (13) und SUSA (12). Die meisten Bronzemedaillen holte bisher SG (18) vor P3D (10) sowie SUSA und CNT (8).

In der Gesamtstatistik wird P3D noch ein paar Jahre mit sechs Siegen an der Spitze stehen. Dahinter sind SUSA und TAAT mit je drei Siegen zu finden. Und je zweimal siegten SG und TSBT. Auch in der Silbermine fühlt sich P3D (7) wohl, dahinter SUSA (4), TAAT (2) sowie SG und ESL (1). Die meisten Bronzetitel hat SG (5) zu verbuchen, vor SUSA, TSBT und TC (2) sowie AF, CNT und LTT (1).
