Ein erster Hinweis zu dem Board:
Das "retention-module" ist an das Mainboard hingenietet (statt geschraubt); ich habe es auch mit grober Gewalt nicht wegbekommen (um eine andere "backplate" festzumachen).
Den CPU-Kühler meiner Wahl (Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra TC) konnte ich erst befestigen, nachdem ich am vorhandenen Plastik-Teil herumgewerkt habe (Kneifzange, Nagelfeile); jetzt paßt es; allerdings ganz knapp und erst nach einigem Feilen(!). Die Garantie dürfte damit natürlich fort sein.
Empfehlung: Im Laden schon ausprobieren, ob ein Kühler paßt. "Natürlich" gehören da Schrauben hin, statt Nieten...
Ansonsten macht das Board einen guten Eindruck (Performance, Stabilität, ... siehe Review bei OCWorkbench.com, Link oben); Details folgen...

hab mir heute ebenfalls das 939a8x-m board gekauft und hatte ebenfalls das problem mit dem nichtpassenden kühler.
auf folgende weise kann man das "retention-module" sehr leicht (ohne gewalt) entfernen:

jetzt muss ich nur noch herausbekommen wie ich die taktzahl des prozessors einstelle.
im moment wird der richtige prozessor erkannt (3GHz) aber bloss 1.8GHz angezeigt

Weiss der Geier,warum, aber ASRock hat bei diesem Sockel 939.Board eine Lüfterfassung für Intel 478 Boards verwendet! Aufgrund der Information hier im Board habe ich im Laden verschiedene Lüfter probiert, die für 939 passen nur nach Bastelei ( mit Garantieverlust!!! ), Lüfter für Sockel 478 passen ohne Probleme.

von mir bekommt das Board keine Empfehlung.
Meine Speicher (2x 512MB Kingston HyperX UL 2 2 2 5) werden weder in 1&2 noch in 3&4 korrekt erkannt,
geschweige denn korrekt betrieben.
All das, was auf meinem KV2 und A8N noch ging geht hier in die Hose,
da half auch kein Biosupdate.
Internetanwendung freezen das es eine wahre Pracht ist.
Der Speicher wird, wenn überhaupt nur mit 166MHz erkannt bzw betrieben,
bei Einstellungen auf Auto nur mit 133 MHz, bei abgeschaltetem C n Q laufen sie mit 157 MHz, selbst diese tolle Momory compatibility Funktion im Bios birngt hier nichts.
Auch eine manuelle Einstellung wird hier ignoriert.
Naja, kurz und gut, ein Käsebrett
Werd mal gucken was die Jungs bei Geekster dazu sagen.

da half auch kein Biosupdate.
Internetanwendung freezen das es eine wahre Pracht ist.
Der Speicher wird, wenn überhaupt nur mit 166MHz erkannt bzw betrieben,
bei Einstellungen auf Auto nur mit 133 MHz, bei abgeschaltetem C n Q laufen sie mit 157 MHz, selbst diese tolle Momory compatibility Funktion im Bios birngt hier nichts.
Auch eine manuelle Einstellung wird hier ignoriert.

Habe dieses Board seit nunmehr 3 Wochen im Einsatz und es läuft auch mit 2 x 512 MB Corsair 3200XL- Modulen (mit dem schnellen 2-2-2-5-1 Timing) ohne jegliche Probleme. Allerdings werden die Module zunächst (nach dem 1. Einschalten bzw. nach jedem BIOS- Update) nur mit 333 MHz betrieben, so dass bisher immer ein manuelles Umstellen auf 400 MHz erforderlich war. Wichtig in dem Zusammenhang ist auch, dass die schnellen Speichertimings (egal welcher Hersteller) in der Regel nur mit erhöhter Spannung (VDIMM) laufen. Im Datenblatt sind die Spannungs- Werte für die die Timings gelten angebeben. Also bei diesem Board nicht vergessen, die Spannung von 2,62V auf 2,72V zu erhöhen... dann sollte es auch mit HyerX- Modulen funktionieren...

Hi!
Habe mir dieses Board nun wegen des sehr günstigen Preises und der recht ordentlichen Bewertungen vor zwei Tagen auch gekauft, um es mit einem Venice 3000+, 2x 512MB MDT Speicher und einer Leadtek 6600GT zu betreiben.
Für den Boxed Kühler musste ich zum Glück auch nichts an der Halterung abkneifen oder feilen.
Allerdings gab es ein heftiges Anfangsproblem: Der Rechner wollte nicht booten. Laufwerke und Lüfter liefen an, aber es gab nur 3 (lange?) Pieptöne und der Bildschirm blieb schwarz. Auch ein probeweiser Austausch aller Komponenten außer Board und Prozesser sowie ein BIOS-Reset brachten nichts.
Nach einigem Googeln konnte ich das Problem aber lösen, indem ich zunächst die Speicherbank 4 frei ließ und nur die Bank 3 belegte. Daraufhin startete die Kiste sofort. Nach diesem Erststart konnte ich auch die Bank 4 wieder belegen und alles lief normal.
Ansonsten ist mein Ersteindruck von dem Board nach zwei Tagen Testbetrieb aber positiv. Alles läuft sauber und stabil, und ich habe den Kauf noch nicht bereut.
Deshalb bekommt das Board zunächst auch von mir eine positive Bewertung. 8)

Hab das Board mit Venice 3000+ und 2mal 512MB Samsung PC3200 Ram laufen - stabil und flott.
Anmerkungen: Wie oben Boxed Kühler paßt und ist vom Lärm her mehr als ok --- etwas fummelig zum einbauen da Micro-ATX aber es läßt sich dann doch alles anschließen --- Ram muß händisch im BIOS auf PC3200 eingestellt werden da es sonst als PC2700 erkannt wird --- 1.Start ohne Probleme (1.0er Bios) --- sofort flashen bevor man noch BS installiert - CuQ funktioniert --- regelt auf 1000MHz runter --- Treiberpaket (enthält auch die LAN-Treiber) direkt von der ULI-HP saugen und nach dem installieren die Busmaster IDE (sofern man keine SATA Platten betreibt - Extra Treiberpaket auf der ULI-HP) Treiber im Gerätemanager händisch über die Internetoption aktualisieren (sind a bissl alt).
Soundtreiber von der Realtek-HP ziehen.
Bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Teil und empfehle es weiter --- Super Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und stabil.

Ich habe das Board seit ein paar Tagen und bin völlig begeistert. Da ich ein mATX-Board mit AGP-Steckplatz brauchte, stieß ich auf dieses ASRock Board. Mein 3000+ Winni läuft aktuell bei 2205 MHz (9x245 bei 1,45V). Die beiden 512MB Speicherriegel von MDT laufen auf 200 MHz mit 2,5-3-3-5 bei 2,7V. Rockstable. Ich hätte nicht gedacht, das so ein kleines Ding so gut zu übertakten ist. Es ist natürlich kein DFI oder so, aber es läuft nicht schlecht. Das Retentionmodul ist aber der Hammer - es lässt sich superleicht lösen und man hat dann die Wahl einen Kühler seiner Wahl mit dem Board zu verschrauben (Sockel 478 oder Sockel 939/754/940), ein anderes Modul einzusetzen oder auf dem Originalmodul einen Sockel 478 oder 939 Kühler zu montieren. Welches Board bietet eine derartige Vielfalt von Kombi-Möglichkeiten. Etwas fummelig ist die Montage der Kabel im eingebauten Zustand, ist halt ein kleines Mobo und es geht da schon enger zu. Ansonsten habe ich mich an die Vorschläge von WizardsOfWar gehalten ( Treiberdownload etc.) und habe jetzt ein kleines schnelles System für mein Barbone von Aspire. Viel besser und schneller war mein altes MSI K8N-Neo2 auch nicht, dafür instabiler. Ich kann es nur empfehlen und würde es jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Also, Installation lief glatt durch. Kann am Mainboard erst mal nichts aussetzen, auch wenn ich persönlich kein solches Board einsetzten würde.
Die Halterung einfach lösen:
- Schlitzschraubendreher wie abgebildet unter den weißen Pnöppel drücken
- Schraubendreher drehen. Damit schiebt der Pnöppel nach oben raus. Achtung, nicht an den Kondensatoren abstützen...
- Mit einer Spitzzange den Pnöppel ganz herrausziehen
- Mainboard umdrehen
- Mit der Spitzzange die schwarzen Spitzen zusammendrücken und das Gestell abziehen
So sollte es dann ausschauen:
BTW: Macht es am Besten nicht so wie ich während der Prozzi drin ist
