Day 5 09 May 2024 No Time for Carelessness​

Day 5 has begun and brought the initial phase of the competition to an end. The teams now know how they are doing and will be thinking about how to proceed best now. Tomorrow sees the start of the Javelin Throw, the most tactical discipline.

And the Steeplechase, which now has a start date, is also unfamiliar territory for most teams in this form. The teams must not let up in the next days and have to be extremely careful.

Marathon (PrimeGrid: only subproject Cullen Prime Search LLR (CUL))
It is normal for the situation on the long track to sort itself out over time. The gaps seem large, but do not let that fool you. Clever teams could seize the opportunity while most teams focus on the other disciplines.

TAAT has still not been ousted from #1 and is unlikely to be. P3D and SG in #2 and #3 are placed well, but these ranks are anything but secure. However, their competitors will have to do something more.

[H] (#4) is positioned best for that, but continues to lose ground. LTT (#5) is already a little further behind and their pace is really lagging behind. And so we probably can expect that the medals will be decided among the top 4.

It remains to be seen where LTT will end up. They still have a small safety cushion, but GPUUG (#6) and CNT (#7) are already working to get closer. With their storming run, the Czechs have already pushed NoTEAM down into #8 and caught them by surprise. LTT and GPUUG might well be next.

Ukraine still continues to hold their own and took #9. They passed SUSA (#10) with a significant difference in pace. Are the Americans gathering their power here for a targeted attack? We will see. If this does not happen soon, AF (#11) will likely also pass them.

At least they already managed to break away from TC (#12). However, the Middle Kingdom is now also under attack from AMD Users (#13) and RKN (#14). The question of whether TC is unable or unwilling to counter arises here as well.

The back of the midfield starts behind them and is already significantly behind. Currently, Chinese Dream (#16) is running the fastest here and is slowly breaking away from Crunching@EVGA (#17), who in turn managed to break away from BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#18). LITOMYSL (#19) is the reason why this trio is no longer a quartet. Their pace is currently atrocious.

Because of that, there is even a chance for OCN (#20) and B^S (#21) to move up one rank. I do not believe right now that MK (#22) behind them has enough power. Hopefully BS (#23) and TFFE (#24) will not cook up the cool ones.

City Run (The Ramanujan Machine on BOINC)
The City Run track is a challenge for the teams, but they should slowly have gotten the hang of it by now at the halfway point. Here, too, TAAT leads ahead of P3D. Behind them, however, [H] moved up into #3 and pushed SG down into #4, but the Germans keep fighting.

LTT has also recovered and made up a lot of ground. After a significant improvement in performance, the scoreboard now shows them in #5. SUSA (#6) is trying to keep up, but we still have to note that the gap is widening steadily.

On the other hand, GPUUG (#7) and NoTEAM (#8) have to cope with having lost two ranks since yesterday. Even worse for them, the Gallic rooster is well fed and is constantly pecking away at the deficit. This way, AF (#9) also manages to break away from Ukraine (#10).

CNT seems to be happy with #11, but this does not match our experiences at all. BOINC.Italy have fought they way up to #12, but have to admit that it is probably only about securing this rank from now. LITOMYSL (#13), AMD Users (#14), and RKN (#15) could still have a say here if they wanted to, but they do not at the moment.

Behind them is a gap, but at the other end things are very close. MK (#16) could well swap places with Chinese Dream (#21), BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#17) with Crunching@EVGA (#20), and TC (#18) with OCN (#19). Everything is still possible.

UBT (#22) will likely have to deal with BS (#23) and B^S (#24) and maybe also with TFFE (#25). As I said, the gaps are small.

A lot of movement will happen in the overall standings tomorrow, but it remains to be seen whether this will last. We will only have the result of the Javelin Throw after the last attempt.

Jour 5 09/05/2024 Pas de temps pour des distractions​

Le 5e jour a commencé et a mis fin à la phase de début de ce challenge. Les équipes savent désormais où elles se situent et sont sûrement en train de réfléchir à la meilleure manière de procéder. Demain débute le Lancer de javelot, la discipline la plus tactique.

Le Steeple-chase, dont nous connaissons maintenant la date de début, est également un terrain inhabituel sous cette forme pour la plupart des équipes. Elles ne devront donc pas se relâcher dans les prochains jours et rester sur leurs gardes.

Marathon (PrimeGrid: uniquement le sous-projet Cullen Prime Search LLR (CUL))
Il est normal que la situation se stabilise un peu sur la piste longue avec le temps. Les écarts semblent grands, mais ne vous laissez pas leurrer: les équipes malignes pourraient profiter de l'occasion quand la plupart des autres seront concentrées sur les autres disciplines.

TAAT n'a toujours pas été éjectée de la 1re place et il y a peu de chances que cela arrive encore. P3D et SG se sont certes bien positionnées aux rangs 2 et 3, mais ces classements sont assurément tout sauf sûrs. Mais pour ça, la concurrence devra agir en conséquence.

À cette fin, [H] (#4) est encore dans la meilleure position, mais elle continue à perdre du terrain. LTT (#5) est déjà plus en retard et son rythme est vraiment lent. Nous pouvons donc partir du principe que les médailles seront distribuées parmi le top4.

Il reste à voir où LTT atterrira à la fin. Pour l'heure, elle est encore protégée par une courte avance, mais GPUUG (#6) et CNT (#7) s'évertuent à la réduire. Dans leur déboulé, les Tchèques ont déjà surpris NoTEAM en la renvoyant à la 8e place. Il se pourrait que LTT et GPUUG en fassent aussi les frais.

L'Ukraine continue vaillamment et a conquis la 9e place. Elle vient de doubler SUSA (#10) avec une différence de vitesse considérable. Les Américains sont-ils en train de rassembler leurs forces pour frapper d'un coup ciblé? Nous verrons bien. S'ils ne le font pas rapidement, il y a des chances que l'AF (#11) les dépasse aussi.

Après tout, elle a déjà réussi à se détacher de TC (#12). Et l'empire du Milieu se fait maintenant aussi attaquer par les AMD Users (#13) et RKN (#14). Là aussi, la question se pose de savoir si TC ne peut pas ou ne veut pas encore faire mieux.

Arrive la deuxième moitié du peloton avec un retard nettement marqué. Chinese Dream (#16) progresse le mieux pour l'instant et arrive doucement à distancer Crunching@EVGA (#17) qui a réussi, à son tour, à se détacher de BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#18). LITOMYSL (#19) a fait en sorte que ce trio ne soit plus un quatuor: sa vitesse est actuellement vraiment proche du néant.

Ainsi, même OCN (#20) et B^S (#21) ont l'opportunité de gagner une place. Pour MK (#22), en revanche, je peine à croire qu'il y ait assez de puissance. Il ne faudrait pas que BS (#23) et TFFE (#24) fassent fondre les gars cool.

Course urbaine (The Ramanujan Machine on BOINC)
La piste de la Course urbaine est un vrai défi pour les équipes, mais elles devraient avoir trouvé le truc maintenant que la moitié du trajet est parcourue. TAAT mène ici aussi, devant P3D. Mais derrière, [H] s'est glissée à la 3e place en reléguant SG au rang 4. Les Allemands résistent toutefois.

LTT a aussi repris du poil de la bête et bien gagné du terrain: après une belle augmentation de la performance, c'est désormais le rang 5 qui s'affiche au tableau. SUSA (#6) tente de rester au contact, mais nous notons quand même que le retard s'accroît continuellement.

GPUUG (#7) et NoTEAM (#8) doivent d'abord digérer le fait d'avoir perdu deux places depuis hier. Pour le malheur des deux, le coq gaulois se nourrit bien et gnignote sans cesse un peu de retard. Ainsi, l'AF (#9) réussit aussi à se détacher de l'Ukraine (#10).

CNT semble se satisfaire de la 11e place, ce qui ne correspond pas du tout à notre expérience. BOINC.Italy a progressé au rang 12, mais elle devra sûrement reconnaître qu'il ne s'agit plus que de sécuriser la place. LITOMYSL (#13), AMD Users (#14) et RKN (#15) pourraient encore avoir leur mot à dire - si elles le voulaient, ce qui n'est pas le cas pour l'instant.

Derrière, nous avons un trou, puis les écarts sont très serrés. MK (#16) pourraient aisément changer de place avec Chinese Dream (#21), BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#17) avec Crunching@EVGA (#20) et TC (#18) avec OCN (#19). Tout est encore possible.

UBT (#22) sera certainement aux prises avec BS (#23) et B^S (#24), voire avec TFFE (#25). Comme je le disais: les écarts sont faibles.

Demain, il y aura du mouvement au classement général. Reste à voir si ce sera durable. Le résultat ne se révélera qu'après la dernière tentative.

• SG ripostera-t-elle à la Course urbaine et CNT réussira-t-elle encore à s'améliorer au Marathon?

Tag 5 09.05.2024 Keine Zeit für Unachtsamkeit​

Tag 5 ist angebrochen und hat die Anfangsphase des Wettbewerbs beendet. Die Teams wissen inzwischen, wo sie stehen, und werden darüber nachsinnen, wie sie am besten jetzt vorgehen. Morgen startet das Speerwerfen und damit die taktischste Disziplin.

Und das Jagdrennen, das nun einen Starttermin hat, ist für die meisten Teams in dieser Form ebenfalls ungewohntes Terrain. Die nächsten Tage dürfen die Teams also nicht nachlassen und müssen höllisch auf der Hut sein.

Marathon (PrimeGrid: nur das Subprojekt Cullen Prime Search LLR (CUL))
Dass sich mit der Zeit die Lage auf der Langstrecke etwas sortiert, ist normal. Die Abstände wirken groß, Sie sollten sich davon aber nicht täuschen lassen. Findige Teams könnten die Chance nutzen, wenn die meisten Teams ihre Aufmerksamkeit auf die anderen Disziplinen legen.

TAAT ist immer noch nicht von #1 verdrängt worden und wird dies wohl auch nicht mehr. P3D und SG auf #2 und #3 haben sich zwar gut positioniert, doch sicher sind diese Platzierungen alles andere als sicher. Allerdings muss die Konkurrenz dann auch etwas dafür tun.

[H] (#4) ist dafür noch in der besten Ausgangsposition, verliert aber erstmal weiter an Boden. Schon etwas zurück hängt LTT (#5), deren Tempo aber schon arg hintendran ist. Und so können wir wohl davon ausgehen, dass die Medaillen unter den Top 4 ausgemacht werden.

Wo LTT am Ende landet, bleibt abzuwarten. Noch schützt sie ein kleiner Vorsprung, doch GPUUG (#6) und CNT (#7) arbeiten sich schon heran. In ihrem Sturmlauf haben die Tschechen schon NoTEAM auf #8 verwiesen und ziemlich überrascht. Nun könnten auch LTT und GPUUG dran glauben.

Die Ukraine hält sich weiter wacker und hat #9 erobert. Sie sind an SUSA (#10) vorbeigegangen, wobei der Geschwindigkeitsunterschied gravierend ist. Sammeln die Amerikaner hier ihre Kräfte, um dann zielgerichtet zuzuschlagen? Wir werden es sehen. Wenn dies nicht bald geschieht, wird wohl auch noch AF (#11) vorbeiziehen.

Immerhin ist es ihnen schon gelungen, sich von TC (#12) zu lösen. Das Reich der Mitte wird aber jetzt auch noch von den AMD Users (#13) und RKN (#14) attackiert. Auch hier stellt sich die Frage, ob TC nicht kann oder noch nicht will?

Das hintere Mittelfeld beginnt dahinter und hat schon einen deutlicheren Rückstand. Chinese Dream (#16) ist derzeit hier am besten unterwegs und kann sich langsam von Crunching@EVGA (#17) absetzen, die sich wiederum von BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#18) lösen konnten. Dass dieses Trio kein Quartett mehr ist, dafür sorgt LITOMYSL (#19). Deren Tempo ist derzeit arg grausig.

Und so besteht sogar für OCN (#20) und B^S (#21) die Chance, einen Platz gutzumachen. Bei MK (#22) dahinter fehlt mir da derzeit der Glaube, dass genug Kraft da ist. Nicht, dass BS (#23) und TFFE (#24) die Coolen noch abkochen.

Stadtlauf (The Ramanujan Machine on BOINC)
Die Strecke beim Stadtlauf ist für die Teams eine Herausforderung, doch sollten sie nach der Hälfte der Strecke langsam den Dreh raus haben. TAAT führt auch hier vor P3D. Dahinter aber hat sich [H] auf #3 geschoben und SG auf #4 verwiesen. Doch die Deutschen halten dagegen.

Auch LTT hat sich berappelt und kräftig Boden gutgemacht, #5 steht nun auf der Anzeigentafel und das nach einer ordentlichen Leistungssteigerung. SUSA (#6) versucht dranzubleiben, aber wir müssen trotzdem festhalten, dass sich der Rückstand stetig vergrößert.

GPUUG (#7) und NoTEAM (#8) müssen dagegen erstmal verkraften, zwei Plätze seit gestern verloren zu haben. Zu allem Übel für die beiden steht der gallische Hahn gut im Futter, pickt stetig etwas vom Rückstand weg. AF (#9) gelingt es so auch, sich von der Ukraine (#10) zu lösen.

CNT scheint mit #11 zufrieden zu sein, was aber so gar nicht zu unseren Erfahrungen passt. BOINC.Italy hat sich auf #12 vorgekämpft, muss sich aber wohl eingestehen, dass es wohl nur noch um die Absicherung dieses Platzes gehen wird. LITOMYSL (#13), AMD Users (#14) und RKN (#15) könnten hier noch ein Wörtchen mitreden. Wenn sie denn wollten, was sie aber derzeit nicht tun.

Dahinter klafft eine Lücke, wobei die Abstände hier sehr knapp sind. MK (#16) könnte durchaus noch den Platz mit Chinese Dream (#21) tauschen, BOINC@AUSTRALIA (#17) mit Crunching@EVGA (#20) und TC (#18) mit OCN (#19). Alles noch möglich.

UBT (#22) wird sich wohl mit BS (#23) und B^S (#24) auseinandersetzen müssen und vielleicht auch noch mit TFFE (#25). Wie gesagt, die Abstände sind klein.

Morgen wird Bewegung in die Gesamtwertung kommen, ob diese von Dauer ist, wird sich zeigen. Das Ergebnis beim Speerwerfen haben wir erst nach dem letzten Versuch.

• Wer wird beim Speer morgen bluffen?
• Kann [H] in der Gesamtwertung SG auf die Pelle rücken?
• Schlägt SG im Stadtlauf zurück und gelingt es CNT, sich im Marathon weiter zu verbessern?
