kommt drauf an
ich habe meinem Bo gesagt bitte für 6 Tage lang die Wu's runterladen ..........

eininge Wu's habe ich schon bekommen ......... reichen aber nur für max 12h
und ich werde nichts ändern an den Einstellungen ... nur um Fehler anderer aus zu bügeln

Naja, ich hatte 3-6 Tage eingestellt und es wurde mir jetzt zuviel. Glaube nicht, dass mein XP@2600+ das schafft, wenn ich den Rechner ab und zu mal runterfahre. Mal sehen wie es mit 1.3-3 Tagen läuft

und wenn das mit seti so weiter geht ....... naja es gibt auch andere Projekte

Die bei Seti machen "langsam" auch Microsoft Konkurenz......... unausgereifte Systeme anbieten.......... die nicht laufen

Seht es doch nicht so verbissen, wenn SETI mal kurzzeitig Probleme bei der Umstellung auf ein anderes System hat. Irgendwann läuft das schon wieder richtig

habe eben gerade 12 stk von diesen erhalten


und ich hoffe das Seti das Niveau auch halten kann, weil ich als ISDN-User
gehe nunmal nur 2 pro Woche ins Netz

Musste leider aufgrund eines Rechnerproblems Boinc runterhauen und habe es neu aufgespielt.
Danach habe ich die Projektdaten eingetragen......... wie schon beim ersten Mal.
und nun kommt das hier

Habe ich da was falsch gemacht oder ist da wieder normal ??
Versuche jetzt schon 2 h den seticlienten runterzuladen damit erdann die WU's laden und rechnen kann.

das geht schon so seid gestern abend zu 20.00 oder 21.00 Uhr....

Es liegt also eindeutig nicht an deinem Rechner. Ich bekomme die selben Meldungen.

ich habe jedenfalls nur noch für ca 10 Stunden Arbeit.

Und zur Zeit funktioniert bei denen ja gar nichts. Kein Upload, kein Download und die Registrierung für das Punktesytem...

Ich hatte gestern abend ca 15 fertige WUs und noch ca 10 WUs zum rechnen.Heute morgen mache ich meinen Monitor an und alles ist weg.Und es waren auch im Meldungsbild null texte mehr vorhanden.Echt klasse.

da sind die WU´s noch drin, werden aber nichtmehr angezeigt in Boinc.
keine ahnung die blieben wahrscheinlich da, bis sie verfaulen oder so....

We have started the copy of the download directory to the Snap Appliance 18000.

The servers are back up as far as receiving results but not as far has distributing new workunits. We are simultaneously clearing out the old download directory and preparing to both it and the upload directory to the Snap Appliance, along with the DB. Allowing result uploads will ultimately speed both the deletion of old workunits and results and the granting of credit. Credit for the backlog of results will start being granted once we move to the Snap Appliance and turn on the hierarchical directory structure.

The project is now down for the move of the DB and the upload directory to the Snap Appliance. Along with the still running download move, this will be a long process. We hope to be back up midday tomorrow.

naja mit dem neuen Server sollte es wohl besser gehen, und die Probleme mit dem I/O Output sollten nicht mehr auftreten.

The good news is that the scheduler is now running as a fast cgi which means it maintains a persistent connection to the DB. The load on the scheduling server has gone way down which is a good thing and the mysql server is using more CPU which is also a good thing. The bad news is that the transitioner is still way behind and so the project will probably run out of send-able work as early as 04:00 UT tomorrow. The transitioner is slow because the mysql server is IO bound. We are having Sun look at our IO system to see if it can be tuned to better performance. At the same time we are planning on moving the physical DB to a high performance Snap Appliance box in the near future. So we are hopeful that these IO problems can be solved.

The download directory is where all the workunits and applications are stored for client download via apache.

There is approximately 250GBs of data is the download directory.

In total we'll have to copy around 350GBs of data to the snap device. The upload/download directories are being put on there own 2TB volume, and the databases are being put on there own 2TB volume.

The DB is now on the Snap Appliance and the web site is back up. The project itself is still down as the transfer of the upload and download directories is still under way.

Large BOINC projects (like SETI@home) were getting on the order of a million files in upload/download directories. This caused OS performance problems. We fixed this by providing a two-level directory hierarchy for upload/download directories.

wird also bald wieder Work geben.

Yeah, just the webserver is up now. We're checking out the upload/download
directories as I type (I'm waiting for a very long "ls" to complete, so I
wanted to check out how fast the message boards were with the database on
this new filesystem).

If all checks out, we'll start the scheduling servers up before the end of
the work day at the latest.

hmm müsste stimmen. Die Ostküste liegt immer 6h zurück (Formel1 Start 18.00 *G*) und Kalifornien liegt nochmal 2h weiter westlich.

nur "tomorrow morning" ist ja selbst auch schon ein dehnbarer Begriff...
