Der freie Multiprotokoll-Messenger Pidgin wurde in der Version 2.7.0 veröffentlicht. Das Programm unterstützt grundsätzlich die Chat-Protokolle von AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MySpaceIM, und Zephyr - weitere stehen über Plugins zur Verfügung. Aktuell werden 70 Sprachen unterstützt.
Pidgin läuft unter Windows ab Windows 2000, Mac OS X ab 10.4 und Linux.

bin ich der einzige bei dem eine bestimmte ICQ nummer einfach nich löschbar/umbenennbar/verschiebbar ist?
ich versuche seit wochen einen bestimmten ICQ Kontakt zu löschen aber sobald ich pidgin neu starte, ist der kontakt wieder da -.-.
das selbe passiert wenn ich den kontakt umbenenne oder in eine andere gruppe schiebe. pidgin neustarten und alles wieder wie vorher (betrifft nur den einen kontakt! nicht alle).
das problem besteht mit der neuen version leider immer noch.

Ich würde aus anderen Gründen erstmal auf die 2.7.1 warten:
Pidgin Encryption funktioniert nicht mehr. (!)
Und Messages vom ICQ-Client kommen als unformatiertes HTML an *AAAAAAARGH*
Downgegraded habe ich aber vor allem wegen der nicht mehr existenten Verschlüsselung.

Die OTR-Erweiterung arbeitet bisher problemlos.
Weißt du, welche Version derjenige nutzt? Offenbar hat man das Problem mit ICQ-6.5-Nutzern, zumindest laut Ticket-System und eigener Feststellung, denn Nachrichten von ICQ-7.x-Nutzern kommen bisher ohne HTML-Code an bzw. werden ohne solchen dargestellt. Vielleicht sollte der Chat-Partner mal sein Programm aktualisieren - spätestens wenn der Anbieter wieder ältere Versionen aussperrt, wird er keine Wahl mehr haben.
Ein Problem für viele wird auch das nicht mehr funktionierende Blinken bei neuen Nachrichten sein - aber das wurde bereits behoben und kommt mit Version 2.7.1: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/11842

Aber es kann doch nicht sein, dass ich alle Kontakte notfalls darauf hinweisen soll, dass sie updaten sollen?
(Manche wissen garnicht wie das geht, bzw. können das garnicht, weil sie eingeschränkte Nutzerkonten haben.)
Oh, das Nichtblinken hab ich ganz vergessen. Das ist auch ziemlich bescheiden.
Alles in allem ein Release, welches (ohne Grund?) mit der heißen Nadel gestickt wurde.
Aber es kann doch nicht sein, dass ich alle Kontakte notfalls darauf hinweisen soll, dass sie updaten sollen?
