Keine drei Wochen nach dem letzten Release wurde gestern die Version 2.2.2 der kostenlosen Virtualisierungssoftware VirtualBox veröffentlicht. Es wurden zahlreiche Fehler beseitigt. Außerdem wird nun die kommende Version von OS X, Codename "Snow Leopard", als Hostsystem unterstützt.
VirtualBox ist für Windows, Mac OS X, Linux und Solaris verfügbar. Zu den unterstützten Gastsystemen zählen neben Windows, Linux und Solaris auch OS/2, DOS und einige BSD-Derivate.

Das hängt von deiner CPU ab. Um einen 64-Bit-Gast auf einem 32-Bit-Host zu installieren, muss die CPU Intel-VT oder AMD-V unterstützen. Praktisch alle AMD-CPUs der letzten 2-3 Jahre haben AMD-V (Semprons vll. ausgenommen). Bei Intel sieht es etwas anders aus, dort haben die Modelle, die vom Preis her als Massenware angelegt waren/sind, meist kein Intel-VT.

AMD-V gabs erst bei der Einführung des AM2 und nur mit diesem zusammen. Wenn S754 oder 939, dann kein AMD-V

2.2.2 lässt sich bei mir nicht über 2.2.0 installieren.

die jeweiligen Neustarts sind wichtig für die korrekte Installation der 2.2.2er, hier werden alle Treiber der alten entfernt

Hallo,
bei mir tritt folgendes Problem auf ! Ich kann weder VISTA 64 Ultimate oder auch Windows7 RC1 Installieren beide brechen mit ner Fehlermeldung ab ! Hatte für beide jeweils 20 GB Virtuell Reserviert !
Da kommt dann was von OK oder Ignorieren
Habe dann mal meine Beiden Festplatten( BOOTPLATTE S-ATA+SLAVE IDE ) im PC ( ASRock ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ )abgesteckt und eine LEERE 80 GB IDE ATA (CableSelect)Rangesteckt . Komme bei W7 nur bis zum Blaubunten Schirm mit dem Cursor und dann Passiert nix mehr , System ist nicht abgestürzt (NumLock geht und SHIFT geht auch sehe ich an den LED`s)

Bei mir wollte das Update von 2.2.0 auf 2.2.2 zuerst nicht richtig. Auch ließ sich die 2.2.0 erst nach einer Reparaturinstallation deinstallieren, dann auch die 2.2.2 installieren. Leider hatte ich nach der Deinstallation den Neustart ausgelassen, und konnte in der 2.2.2 zuerst keine neuen Systeme in neuen VMs installieren. Hatte os mit verschiedenen OpenSuses probiert, aber es gab immer Fehler.
Auf klein vans Posting hatte ich dann nochmal alles deinstalliert und auch wirklich einen Neustart gemacht, bevor ich die 2.2.2 erneut neu installiert habe. Seitdem lassen sich auch neue Systeme installieren, und alles läuft wieder wie erhofft.
