Ich hab für Debian HIER eine Anleitung gefunden, die werd ich heute oder morgen mal ausprobieren. Mal schaun obs mit der funktioniert.

ich bin zwar nicht der experte schlechthin ;D , aber ich versuche mal zu helfen.
wie PuckPoltergeist schon sagte, nimm agpgart als modul.
zur frage an welcher stelle: das ergibt sich im dialog, wenn du fglrxconfig ausführst. ich

mit "internal" ist praktisch das interne Modul des ATI Treibers gemeint.

Ich probiers wenn ich daheim bin mal. ich geb dann noch bescheid obs funktioniert hat.

ich hab in der XFree86 Config jetzt das Externe AGP Modul verwendet.

Wichtig --> unter "Character devices" --> Direct Rendering Manager (Xfree86 DRI Support)
auf disable (no) oder als Modul (m) setzen!
=> als Modul kann ich es nicht kompilieren, ich hab es mal draußen gelassen, es ist also NICHT im Kernel.

@Diablo - Glückwunsch! Es zeigt nur mal wieder, dass Ati es nicht auf die Reihe bringt, gescheite Treiber zu machen. Ein riesen Aufwand, bis es dann mal irgendwann läuft. Da Lob ich mir echt NVidia! Ich hab am Wochenende mein Mandrake 9.2 auf die 10er Official upgedatet. Ging absolut problemlos. Aber weil dabei auch ein neuer Kernel upgrade dabei war, 2.6.3-7, musste der Grafiktreiber neu drauf. War in 2 Minuten erledigt und läuft. So stelle ich mir das vor.
Meine nächste Graka ist auf jeden Fall eine NVidia.

Die Treiber von Nvidia sind schneller- aber so genau kann man das eh nicht vergeleichen, dazu müssten die Treiber mit beiden Karten laufen...

Sie sind zumindest unproblematischer und haben einen "weiteren" Chip-Support- bis zum TNT, Ati unterstützt nichtmal mehr ne Radeon VE oder deren Abkömmlinge (M6 8-()

Naja, ein paar Leute verstehen oft die Probleme der Installation gar nicht, weil sie immer aufs Erste funktionieren (D'Espice, PuckPoltergeist z.B.). Deswegen wollte ich nicht "grottenschlechte Linuxtreiber" schreiben ;)
 
Keine mir bekannten/offensichtlichen. Das Problem ist ja eher: Laut ner Aussage auf der GATOS-ML (oders wars in nem Forum?) würde Ati die Specs wohl rausgeben (zumindest für die Chips, für die sie keinen Treibersupport anbieten), nur hat Macrovision da was gegen... (Stichwort TV-Out und DVD). Der M6 steckt halt in meinem Schlepptop und der kommt schon mal auf ne Präsentation mit- blöd, wenn da kein Beamer mit VGA-Eingang vorhanden ist.
 
Weit sind wir davon aber auch nicht mehr entfernt. Ich habe das Gefühl, die werden mit jedem Release schlechter.

Da geb ich dir gerne recht. Mich z.B. schreckt das Gefrickel mit den Ati Treibern davon ab, mein Mandrake 9.2 auf dem Desktop auf die 10er Official upzudaten. Die Zeit habe ich einfach nicht, stundenlang da dran rumzubasteln. Und ne Runde UT muss zwischendrin mal sein 8)

Du kannst ja dein Mandrake upgraden, solange du bei den alten Treibern bleibst.

Auf dem Lappi war es ja auch genauso. Ich musste den Nvidia Treiber auch neu installieren. 3D war nach dem upgrade weg. Neuer Kernel, KDE usw

qDiablo - nein, ich hab nix mehr gemacht. Lief. Hmm, die Ati Geschichte ist bei mir schon ne Weile her, ich hab da nicht mehr so den Plan. Du hast aber in deiner Config unter Device VGA stehen. Gehört da nicht was anderes hin?
