Also mit einer Radeon HD 7870, einem HP w2207, dem Catalyst 14.12 (Omega) und Windows 7 SP1 (x64) klappt es nicht.Oder hast du da noch Schwierigkeiten?
Jedenfalls meldet meine APC Back-UPS CS 650 ein und denselben Verbrauch, ob der Monitor nun wach ist oder schläft.

Ich habe bei Xplane das Problem, daß es ab und zu mal hängt, die CPU-Last dann aber auf 100% ist. Teilweise hängt das bis zu 20 sekunden. Ob das auch an dem Speicherproblem liegt? Der VRAM ist da fast voll (laut G15 Anzeige).

Selbstverständlich, ansonsten wäre das Feature auf Dauer nicht sinnvoll zu gebrauchen. Für den Test hatte ich das Intervall auf "1 Minute" eingestellt.Und der Monitor wird nicht manuell, sondern mittels Windows-Timer aus den Energieoptionen ausgeschaltet?
Zuerst schon, aber später habe ich alle älteren Catalyst Releases beseitigt und die Version 14.12 frisch aufgesetzt. An Dateileichen sollte es also nicht liegen.Wurde der Catalyst Omega über frühere Versionen installiert?

Was heisst denn "VRAM fast voll" in Zahlen? Wenn es unterhalb der 3 - 3,5GB sind, ist es ja noch im normalen Bereich. Interessant ist auch, dass deine CPU am Anschlag werkelt. Wenn es ruckelt, welche Auslastung hat dann die GPU?

Hab grad mal n kurzen Testflug gemacht, würde sagen 90%. Ich lass das nächste mal den NVinspector mitlaufen.

Also der Flug war in dem Rotem Bereich, immer mal wieder kleine Hänger, größere sind nicht aufgetreten. RAM-Auslastung lag wohl bei 3273-3370, mein G15 Applet schwindelt da wohl bissel oder zeigt nur die 3,5GB an?

Danke, der Link war sehr informativ, obwohl die Betrachtung theoretisch-abstrakt bleibt. Wieso veröffentlicht eigentlich niemand Framerateverläufe mit einer VRAM Auslastung zwischen 3,5 und 4,0 Gigabyte? So kam man auch den Microrucklern bei SLI auf die Spur. Hier sollte es genauso weiterhelfen.anandtech statt "Heise dir deine Meinung"

Da bitte. Zwischen 3,5 und 3,6 am Schluss. Da waren dann auch Mikroruckler drin. Musste auf 2x DSR umstellen, damit ich überhaupt so hoch komme. Allerdings könnte das Ruckeln dann auch daran liegen daß das System dann Grafisch so ausgelastet ist daß einfach nicht mehr geht.
Danke, der Link war sehr informativ, obwohl die Betrachtung theoretisch-abstrakt bleibt. Wieso veröffentlicht eigentlich niemand Framerateverläufe mit einer VRAM Auslastung zwischen 3,5 und 4,0 Gigabyte? So kam man auch den Microrucklern bei SLI auf die Spur. Hier sollte es genauso weiterhelfen.

Ist der VRAM sofort über die 3,5GB gefüllt bei Spielbeginn oder füllt er sich mit der Zeit? Wenn über Zeit, kannst du zumindestens am Anfang schauen, ob das Ruckeln weg ist und ob es dann mit VRAM-Befüllung auftaucht.
OT: An deinem Diagramm kann man gut sehen, wie die GTX-Serie versucht, das Power-Limit zu halten. Spannung und Takt zucken ja wie bekloppt rum. Würd mich daher nicht wundern, wenn die Spulen deswegen anfangen, wie verrückt zu fiepen. Bin mal gespannt, wie lange der Chip bei sowas mitmacht.

Aber viel interessanter finde ich wie NV das Totschweigen wollte,
denn der Abfall ist ja Technisch bedingt
(Das Argument NV wusste von nichts zieht hier nicht)
Ich habe den Thread bei 3DCenter mitverfolgt.
Bei den ganzen Posts erhärtet sich bei mir der Eindruck, dass der Treiber bei der GTX 970 versucht, die VRAM-Auslastung unter der kritischen Grenze zu halten. Erst, wenn es nicht mehr anders geht, wird in den oberen Bereich gefüllt.
Aber wenn man etwas nicht weiß, wie kann man dann eine derartige Treiberroutine bauen?
Mein Eindruck: NVIDIA hat GM204 aus komplexitätsgründen so designt, dass er möglichst einfach ist und wollte mit der Einschränkung beim "Beschneiden" leben. Und scheinbar dachte man, es würde niemandem auffallen...
Das ist mein ganz persönlicher Eindruck.
Als GTX-980-SLI-Nutzer könnte man meinen, dass ich jetzt fein raus bin. Aber ehrlich gesagt kotzt mich diese Situation ziemlich an... Bestärkt mich darin, seit der 5870 mal wieder AMD-Karten ausprobieren zu wollen...

Aus den Verläufen lassen sich die Framerateeinbrüche jedoch nur indirekt ableiten.Da bitte. Zwischen 3,5 und 3,6 am Schluss. Da waren dann auch Mikroruckler drin.
Ich dachte an Kurven, wie diese (mit entsprechend hoher Abtastrate): Klick
Dem GM204 sollte es wenig ausmachen, aber zusammen mit einem Haswell/Broadwell sollte es keine NoName PSU sein.Bin mal gespannt, wie lange der Chip bei sowas mitmacht.

Das Logging Werkzeug selbst dürfte so gut wie keine Ressourcen belegen. Eine externe Messung kommt nicht in Frage.
