Ich habe es jetzt mal unter Linux ausprobiert. Hat nicht geklappt. Angeblich sei der USB-Stick noch in Verwendung gewesen... Muss ich wohl mal bei Gelegenheit unter Windows ausprobieren.

Hab ich auch gerade probiert.
Erst wurde bemägelt, dass der USB stick gemounted ist, das habe ich gelöst. Aber trotzdem klappt es nicht:

maybe sudo is not root?

Das Problem ist, dass man den USB-Stick nicht mit Nautilus aushängen darf, dann wird der USB-Stick komplett rausgeworfen. Mit disks aushängen, führt dann zum "richtigen" unmount (nur der Partitionen).

Unterstützt UEFI Only (sind die meisten Rechner schon bei mir) und auch CSM.

Kann man irgendwo festlegen, dass ein Image als UEFI oder als CSM gestartet werden soll?
Ventoy ist bei mir als MBR auf dem stick erstellt und ich habe ein Windows10 und ein Ubuntu Image drauf kopiert.
Gestartet werden kann der Stick nur als UEFI, mit CSM taucht er nicht in der Liste der Boot devices auf.
Windows hat sich als MBR/CSM installiert und danach sollte Ubuntu drauf, hat sich aber als UEFI installiert und das funktioniert so nicht, weil Ubuntu den Bootmanager nicht in die UEFI boot partition schreiben kann.

Edit: Problem hat sich erst mal erledigt. Ich habe noch mal alles platt gemacht und von vorn begonnen. Diesmal hatte Windows auch UEFI als Installationsart gewürfelt und damit konnte dann Ubuntu ebenfalls in diesem Modus installiert werden.

Ich hatte letztens an einem Deskmini beim booten die Auswahl, ob ich uefi oder normal nehmen will für den Stick.

Hatte das bisher immer getrennt, für BIOS alten 4GB Stick mit FAT32. Update gerade meine 2 Ventoysticks. Einmal mir 16GB und einer mit 128GB.

Auf dem 16GB liegen nur 4 ISOs, BIOS Image drauf kopiert und beim CH X670E wird das von EZ Flash gefunden und Update wäre möglich.

128GB hat exFAT als Dateisystem, habe mal das BIOS Verzeichnis von meinem BIOS Stick drauf kopiert. Auch hier wäre ein BIOS Update möglich. Verzeichnis mit allen BIOS Imagedateien wird von EZ Flasch gefunden.

Fazit: geht - jedenfalls mit ASUS Boards.

ntpasswd unterstützt nur MBR/BIOS, wenn ich mit aktiviertem CSM das Image boote bleibt es im späteren Verlauf hängen. Kann aber auch daran das die Software sehr alt ist.
